Edit an Existing Policy Server Object

The Policy Server User Interface allows you to edit the Policy Server objects that currently exist within the system.

To edit an existing Policy Server object

1. Log into the Policy Server User Interface.
2. In the Object pane, click on the System Configuration or the Policy Domain Configuration tab.

   The tab you select depends on whether the object must be configured by an administrator with the Manage All System and Domain Objects privilege or the Manage Domain Objects privilege.

   Note: If you login as an administrator for specific policy domains, there are no tabs to chose from in the Object pane. Instead, the available objects are simply listed in the Object pane.

3. In the Object pane, click on an object type.

   The List pane displays all existing objects of the selected type.

4. In the List pane, do one of the following:
   • Double click on the object you want to edit.
   • Click on the object you want to edit and click the View Properties button in the tool bar.

     

   • Click on the object and from the menu bar, select Edit , Properties of <object type>.
   • Right click on the object you want to edit and from the menu, select Properties of <object type>.

     The system displays the appropriate dialog with the current properties of the selected object.

5. Modify the information in the dialog.

   See the chapter associated with the object type for detailed information about the fields and controls contained in the dialog.

   Note: When you create or modify a Policy Server object in the Policy Server User Interface, use ASCII characters. Object creation or modification with non-ASCII characters is not supported.

6. When you have finished editing a object, do one of the following:
   • Click the OK button to save the object and close the dialog.
   • Click the Apply button to save the object without closing the dialog.
   • Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without saving the object.
