Create an Application User

The application user (often named usmuser) is a database user that CA Service Catalog uses to run certain stored procedures and to access the database. Configure a new or existing database user as an application user.

Follow these steps:

  1. Decide whether to use an existing database user or a new database user as the application user.

    Important: If you are upgrading CA Service Catalog and you are using Oracle, you cannot use an existing database user. In that case, create an application user.

  2. Enter the user name and password of this user in the Application user settings section of the setup utility.
  3. Save your changes.

You have created an application user.
