Define a Service

After you create a service, define it. Defining a service primarily means adding one or more service option groups and specifying which service options to include. You also specify permissions and other important settings. Catalog users view the options in the service and decide whether to request it.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Catalog, Service Offerings.

The Services tree appears and displays the folders containing services, organized hierarchically according to categories.

  2. Expand the tree to display the service of interest and click the Definition tab.

The page for defining the service appears. If one or more service option groups are already associated with this service, the service options from those groups appear.

  3. Click Edit Offering Selection.

The Service Offering Selection dialog appears.

  4. Save your changes and close the Service Offering Selection dialog.

    Your changes are saved.

You have defined the service. You can also set thresholds for QoS SLAs for request fulfillment reports, and you can set permissions as part of managing the servce.
