As an administrator, you use the Catalog Component to create a service catalog to administer and provide access to services. You create and update services in this catalog.
The service catalog consists of services, organized into a folder structure, available either to all business units or only a specific business unit. Services consist of one or more service option groups for IT services. Examples include hardware, software, new hire onboarding, and reservations for temporary physical or virtual resources. You can optionally use Accounting Component to specify charges for each service.
You manage and configure services with Catalog Component according to the following categories:
Add, change, and delete service and folders
Note: The product UI and command line utilities interchangeably use the terms offerings, service offerings, and services. The documentation uses the term services throughout.
Add, change, and delete the components of the services in the catalog
Add, change, and delete the details of these components
Manage service level agreements for services
Create and maintain forms for use with services
Associate services with configuration items in CA CMDB
Manage the Catalog Component configuration settings
Note: For details about setting the Catalog Component configuration, see the Implementation Guide. For details about setting the CA CMDB configuration item association, see the Integration Guide.
