(Optional) Create a Vblock Service Offering

To provision Vblock services in CA Server Automation, service offerings must exist in the UIM environment.

To create or modify a service offering using FlexUI

  1. On the FlexUI Administration page, click Add.
  2. Click Edit to specify the Name and Description, and select an operating system. Save your changes.
  3. Select the Servers tab.
  4. Click Add to add blades.
  5. Select the Grade of Server, Description, Minimum, Maximum, and Default blades for the Server. Save your changes.
  6. Select the Storage tab.
  7. Under Constraint, click Add and set the Grade, Description, Minimum LUN Size GB, and Combined Maximum GB. Save your changes.
  8. Under Boot, click Add and set the Boot, Grade, Description, and Size GB. Save your changes.
  9. Select the Network tab and click Add.
  10. Set the Vblock, Quality of Service, Pin Group, and Virtual Network. Save your changes.
  11. Click Close.

    The service offering is created or updated. Verify that it appears on the Service Offerings tab of the FlexUI Administration page.

Verify VCE Vblock in the Resources Tree

After successful configuration and discovery, newly discovered resources are listed in the Resources, Explore pane under the corresponding group.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Resources, and open the Explore pane.
  2. Expand the VCE Vblock UIM Services group.

    The available service resources appear.

CA Server Automation is now ready to manage the discovered VCE Vblock environment. You can monitor the status and the properties of your resources.
