The Workpoint Business Process Management (BPM) solution lets you implement ticket-based workflows in the portal. CA RCM uses two Workpoint components: the Workpoint server and the Workpoint Designer client.
When you run the CA RCM installer, you can choose to implement Workpoint server in one of two ways:
The installer also generates files that you use to install the local instance of Workpoint Designer so that it communicates with the new server instance.
Note: If you specify a pre-existing, remote Workpoint server instance in the network, you must manually configure connectivity between CA RCM components and the existing Workpoint instance, and install the Ticket Management System Adapter utility on the remote Workpoint server. Consult with CA Technical Support.
In addition, you must configure Workpoint Designer to address the remote server instance. Contact Technical Support for assistance with these configuration steps.
