How to Install CA RCM Server Components on a JBoss Cluster

A load-balanced server cluster provides scalability and high availability for the CA RCM and Workpoint servers in high-volume production environments.

To install CA RCM server components on a JBoss cluster, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a server image computer for the JBoss cluster. Install and configure a supported version of the JBoss Application Server on a Windows computer. This forms the basis of a server image that you copy to all servers in the cluster.
  2. Run the CA RCM server application installer to create a reference installation of CA RCM and Workpoint server applications on a Windows computer.
  3. Copy files from the CA RCM reference installation to the server image computer, to incorporate CA RCM components in the JBoss server image.
  4. Edit configuration settings to support clustered operation.
  5. Define the JBoss cluster.
  6. Verify successful installation.
  7. Import Workpoint processes.

Note: You do not run CA RCM from the reference installation you create in step 2. You can remove CA RCM components from this computer after you create the JBoss cluster server image.
