Removing Volumes from Management

The OFFLINE command removes entire volumes from CA PMO management. Before you take a volume in your data center offline, you should issue this command so that CA PMO does not manage libraries on the specified volume.

Format

The OFFLINE command has the following syntax:

F PMO {,OFFLINE=ALL}
      {,OFFLINE=volser name}
      {,OFFLINE=volser list}

This command has the following operands:

PMO

The CA PMO started task name.

OFFLINE

Specify this operand like this:

OFFLINE=ALL

Excludes all volumes from CA PMO management.

OFFLINE=volser name

Excludes the specified volume from CA PMO management.

OFFLINE=(volser list)

Excludes the specified list of volumes from CA PMO> management. Enclose the list in parentheses and separate each volser name with a comma. A maximum of four volumes can be specified.

Examples

F PMO,OFFLINE=ALL
F PMO,OFFLINE=USRVOL
F PMO,OFFLINE=(MYVOL1,MYVOL2,MYVOL3)

Note:

Keep the following items in mind when using the OFFLINE command:

• If issue this command because you took a volume offline, make sure you issue F PMO,ONLINE command when the volume is back online so that CA PMO can manage the libraries on the specified volumes again.
• If you remove all volumes from CA PMO management with the F PMO,OFFLINE=ALL command, you can make the volumes eligible for CA PMO management again only by using the F PMO,ONLINE=ALL command.
• This command applies only to private libraries. Issue the F PMO,EXCLLNK command to remove LNKLST libraries from management.
• You can override this command for a specific library by using the F PMO,INCLPRVT command.
