You can instruct CA PMO to start managing a private library with the F PMO,INCLPRVT command. This command overrides the EXCLAUTO parameter and the F PMO,EXCLPRVT command. If you previously excluded the library, and CA PMO currently does not have any free slots for it, this command causes CA PMO to automatically include the library when directory search activity warrants management of the library.
The INCLPRVT command has the following syntax:
F PMO {,INCLPRVT=data set name} [,VOL=volser]
This command has the following operands:
The CA PMO keyword.
You specify this operand as follows:
Tells CA PMO to manage the specified data set.
Identifies the volume serial number where the private library resides. If you do not specify this operand, CA PMO looks for the data set in the catalog. If CA PMO cannot determine the volume serial number, or if the data set is not in the catalog, CA PMO cannot manage the library.
After successfully including the data set, CA PMO responds:
PMO388I INCLPRVT SUCCESSFUL FOR DSN=data set name
If the library that you specified on the F PMO,INCLPRVT command does not exist, or if it is not cataloged and you omitted its volume serial number, CA PMO responds with one of the following messages:
PMO384I VOLSER NOT LOCATED FOR INCLPRVT DSN=data set name PMO385I NOT FOUND OR NOT PARTITIONED INCLPRVT DSN=data set name
You can also receive message PMO385I if you tried to include a sequential data set. CA PMO manages only partitioned data sets.
If CA PMO> already manages the library specified on the F PMO,INCLPRVT command, you receive the following messages:
PMO386I DUPLICATE ENTRIES FOR VOL=volser DSN=data set name PMO389I LIBRARY WAS ALREADY MANAGED BY PMO - IT IS NOW PROTECTED DSN=data set name
If CA PMO could not manage the library because there were no available entries, it responds with the following message:
PMO382I NO FREE PRIVATE LIBRARY ENTRIES AVAILABLE FOR DSN=data set name
Finally, CA PMO issues the following message after it determines that it cannot manage this library:
PMO387I CA PMO UNABLE TO INCLPRVT DSN=data set name
If you receive any other messages, see the CA PMO Message Guide.
Note: In general, CA PMO will not stop managing any library specified with the F PMO,INCLPRVT command. This is the case even if CA PMO virtual storage limits are reached, or if it is managing the maximum number of libraries and there are better candidates for management than this one.
However, there is one situation in which CA PMO may stop managing a library designated on the F PMO,INCLPRVT command. This can happen when you issue the F PMO,EXCLPRVT command for a library that was automatically included for management by CA PMO. If you later re-include the library with the F PMO,INCLPRVT command, CA PMO reverts to managing the library as if it had been automatically included for management.
