This report produces a graph of the average percentage of
channels busy during a user-defined reporting period. Each
bar of the graph represents the percentage of channels busy
for a given channel path ID.
INTENDED USE:
Allows analysis of the channel subsystem for purposes of
performance tuning and capacity control. This report
might be used to identify periods of poor system
performance due to an overloaded channel, or might be
monitored over time to see how channel workload might be
shifting.
FORMAT:
A horizontal bar chart of the percentages of channels busy
for each CHPID (Channel Path ID). Only channel paths that
had some activity are displayed on the graph.
An example of this report is shown in Figure 3-14.

CALCULATIONS:
The information is summarized across the user-specified
time period, and only active CHPIDs are selected. No
other calculations are performed.
USAGE CONSIDERATIONS:
The Channel Path Contention Data File (VMXCHC) is created
from the 0/09 monitor records. With the introduction of
z990 processor, the 0/09 no longer contains valid channel
path information. It is recommended that the 0/18 or 0/20
monitor records be used for valid channel path
information.
