All distributed MICF inquiries are categorized by analysis group. The CA MICS VMX information area provides MICF inquiries within two analysis groups: workload and performance. The VM inquiries are created from DETAIL timespan files in the VMX information area, and are typically designed to allow for analysis of activity over a user-defined period of time during the day. Additionally, the tabular reports produced here are designed for running in batch, and most produce 132-character-wide reports. However, as with all MICF inquiries, these reports can be run in foreground and the output viewed online. Figure 3-2 lists the MICF inquiries contained within each of these groups: 1 - VM Workload Analysis Inquiries 2 - VM Performance Analysis Inquiries
