3.2.1.2 VM Performance Analysis Inquiries
Performance Analysis inquiries quantify key measurements that
impact system performance, including channel activity, cache
usage, and paging activity. The inquiries in this category
are available for user-defined reporting periods specified as
execution-time parameters. For example, it might be
desirable to produce a report on CP-owned Volume Activity
covering the period from 1:30 p.m to 2:45 p.m. The MICF
inquiry will select the detail data covering the period of
time requested, summarize the information, and then produce a
report. The performance analysis inquiries are explained in
greater detail in the following sections:
1 - Detail VMX Concurrent Channel Busy
2 - Detail VMX Percent Channel Busy
3 - Detail VMX DASD Cache Usage Report
4 - Detail VMX CP Owned Volume Summary
5 - Detail VMX Device Utilization Report (by Device)
