Change the Master Password

In a stand-alone environment, you can change the master password previously set for the current security provider.

To change the master password

1. From the Users tab in the DSM Properties - Remote Control dialog, click the Properties button next to the Current Security Provider field.

   The Provider Properties dialog appears.

2. Click the Change Password button.

   The Set Master Password dialog appears.

3. Enter the old and new passwords and confirm the new password in the fields provided.

   Note: Passwords must be non-blank and cannot be fewer than six characters. You can combine letters, numbers, and characters used in punctuation.

4. Click OK.

   The master password is changed, and you are returned to the Users tab of the DSM Properties - Remote Control dialog.
