In today's highly sophisticated CA IDMS environment, managing development activities and operations can be extremely complex and unpredictable. Hundreds of environmental changes are evaluated, tested and implemented monthly, sometimes weekly, to keep up with growing business demands. Until now, many software management tasks have been performed manually. Given the sheer volume and complexity of present-day CA IDMS environments, however, manual software management methodologies are becoming less feasible in terms of accuracy, reliability and attainment of audit requirements. The only viable solution is one in which an automated, integrated approach is applied to all stages of software management.
