Enable Encryption Key Recovery Options and Provide Public Key Path
After generating the public-private key pair, you must enable the encryption key recovery option and provide the public key file path in DMM Options Editor.
To enable encryption key recovery options and provide public key path
- Launch DMM Options Editor.
All the DMM options appear.
- Click the Data Protection node.
The data protection options appear in the right pane.
- Select the Use password to securely encrypt data (safe) or Use FIPS 140-2 compliant cryptography to encrypt data (safest) option as your level of data protection.
The Enable Encryption Key Recovery check box is enabled.
- Select the Enable Encryption Key Recovery option.
A message appears asking you to provide the public key path for encryption key recovery.
- Click OK and specify the path to the public key file in the Public Key Path field, which you have already generated by using the Key Generator tool.
- Save the settings.
You can now create DNA files, which can be recovered using the public-private key pair.
