CA DMM provides the encryption key recovery mechanism to recover the password or the FIPS key used for encrypting DNA files. If you lose or forget the password or the FIPS key of a DNA (or SE) file, you can easily retrieve them to recover the data.
Encryption key recovery is available only for recoverable DNA (or SE) files. When you create a recoverable DNA (or SE) file, the password or the FIPS key is encrypted using the RSA public key. You, as an administrator, can provide the public key to the end users, if the security policy of your organization allows doing so and retain the private key with you. You can use the private key with the encryption key recovery command to retrieve the password or FIPS key when requested.
