The Select a DMM Task page lets you choose one of the following migration options:
Creates a DNA file from the source computer, which is later applied to a destination computer.
Note: Select the Creates a DNA file from Slave Disk check box to enable disk-to-disk migration. Make sure that the slave disk is attached to the host computer before performing disk-to-disk migration. For more information on disk-to-disk migration, see the Getting Started guide.
Takes place over the network or a direct connection without creating a DNA file. The DNA file is moved directly to a different computer.
If you want to connect the source and destination systems directly with a crossover cable, ensure your source system is connected to the destination system using a crossover cable. Then, select Crossover configuration from either the Actions menu, or select Source and destination are connected with a crossover cable on this page. For more information, see crossover configuration.
Note: You must be signed on as an administrator to perform a migration using crossover cables and the crossover function.
