Create a Merger and Acquisition Template

You can create a Merger and Acquisition template (also called MA Config file) for using in Merger and Acquisition Tool. By using this template, you can do the mapping in one go and provide it to the multiple migrations. Merger and Acquisition Tool takes only those users from the template which are present on the computer, and maps them based on the information provided in the template.

To create a Merger and Acquisition template

  1. Open DMM Template Editor from Start, Programs, CA, Desktop Migration Manager, Migration Toolkit.
  2. Click File, New in the DMM Template Editor.

    The New dialog opens.

  3. Select Merger & Acquisition Template, and click OK.

    The user settings for creating a Merger and Acquisition template appear.

  4. Specify the settings for the Users node.
  5. Click Save after specifying the settings.

    The Save as dialog appears.

  6. Enter the name of the new template and click Save.

    Note: Do not change the default template file name extension (.dtf)

    The template file is saved with the given settings.
