Create a Desktop Migration Manager Template
You can create a Desktop Migration Manager template to customize and automate migrations.
To create a Desktop Migration Manager template
- Open DMM Template Editor from Start, Programs, CA, Desktop Migration Manager, Migration Toolkit.
- Click File, New in the DMM Template Editor.
The New dialog opens.
- Select Desktop Migration Manager Template, and click OK.
The template settings for CA DMM appear.
- Select your template settings for the following nodes:
- Users
- System
- 32 Bit Applications
- 64 Bit Applications
- Files
- Filters
- Drive Destinations
- Click Save after specifying the settings.
The Save as dialog appears.
- Enter the name of the new template and click Save.
Note: Do not change the default template file name extension (.dtf).
The template file is saved with the given settings.
Note: You can also create a template using the CA DMM wizard by cycling through the steps used to perform a migration, then saving the results as a template.
