The DMM Explorer attempts to recover missing information from a damaged DNA file by walking though all the valid data in the DNA file. You may be prompted to specify the location of valid media in response to this attempt to open the file normally. You can cancel these dialogs to discontinue the normal recovery and begin a catastrophic recovery process.
The catastrophic recovery process changes some of the data during the recovery process. Modifying the data invalidates the DNA file for normal use. If you do not want to modify the original DNA file, take a copy of the DNA file before attempting the recovery.
Note: Transfer any removable media files to the hard disk for the recovery to be efficient.
