Recover a DNA File

When a DNA file is damaged and you are unable to open it normally, DMM Explorer can recover the DNA file by performing either a normal recovery or a catastrophic recovery.

To recover a DNA file

  1. Click the Recover Recover button toolbar button.

    A message appears detailing the recovery feature.

  2. Click OK.

    The Open dialog appears.

  3. Browse to locate the damaged DNA file that you want to recover and click Open.

    The recovery process starts.

    Note: The recovery process may take several minutes depending on the data stored in the DNA file.

  4. Enter the location of the valid media if your DNA file spans across removable devices.

    If the file recovery process is successful, the file is opened in DMM Explorer.
