Specify Internet Explorer Installation Directory

AutoDNA and CA DMM require that Internet Explorer version IE 4 (4.72.3110) be installed. If the computers to be migrated do not meet this requirement, you must specify the path to the Internet Explorer install files by editing the DirectorSource.dmx and DirectorDestination.dmx files to specify the path to an IE installer on your network

To set the path in the migration .dmx file, follow these steps:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the migration directory to open the source .dmx file.

    …\DirectorMigration\Source\DirectorSource.dmx

  2. Double-click the DirectorSource.dmx file.

DMM Options Editor opens displaying the contents of the .dmx file.

  3. Expand the Migration branch and click Director Options.

The Director Options page opens on the right side of the window.

  4. Scroll down to the option Path to the Internet Explorer Installer, and then enter the path to the IE installer located on your network.

Note: If you enter the path to the installer located on your network, all the computers to be migrated must have access to this directory.

You can also set the other Internet Explorer options if you choose. For help on these options, place your mouse over the field title.

  5. Repeat these steps for the destination .dmx file located in DirectorMigration\Destination\DirectorDestination.dmx
  6. Click the Save toolbar button.
