Example of How to Set Up a System to Scan for an Event

This section takes you quickly through the steps required to set up ENS to notify a user, using electronic mail, of a login warning on a serviced system.

The example enables Console Manager to scan for this event occurring on the console of the serviced system you selected, and for ENS to send an electronic mail message to the specified user when the event is detected.

Verify this by using the monitor interface. When an event occurs, it appears in the event window at the bottom of the screen.

To quickly test your event setup, you can generate an artificial occurrence of the event by typing the text string which represents the event on the managed console, or by broadcasting this message to the system's console using a terminal session on the serviced system.
