How To Set Up a Common Console Management C3 View

By default, each user's C3 display can be customized independently of other users' displays. Each user's settings are stored in their copy of the customization file (see The Customization File, earlier in this chapter).

You can set up a common interface for all users as follows:

Before starting the C3 interface, define the logical name CONSOLE$USER_DEFAULTS to point to a directory that contains the common CONSOLE$C3.DAT resource file. The logical definition may be placed in the LOGIN.COM file for each user sharing a C3 configuration view:

$ DEFINE CONSOLE$USER_DEFAULTS directory_specification

Various files used by other user interfaces must also be moved to the common directory as listed in the following table.
