Contents of the C3 Window

The C3 main window (see the figure in the section, The Main C3 Window, earlier in this chapter) contains:

  1. One of the following:

    You cannot have a group within a group, so only the main window can contain group icons. The group and system icons are created or removed on your C3 display when you reconfigure Console Manager.

    The groups and systems that appear on the C3 display are those defined and stored in the Console Manager configuration database and which you are authorized to monitor and manage. To display any additional groups or systems, you must be granted access to them in the configuration database using the configuration editor as described in Chapter 4, “ Modifying the Configuration Database.”

    When you move the cursor to an icon, the group or system name is displayed at the position you specified for the label in the configuration database (for example, below the group's icon).

  2. Two icon status boxes to the bottom left of the window:

    The left one displaying the Console Manager icon. This icon changes color to indicate the status of Console Manager.

    The right one displaying the ENS icon. This icon changes color to indicate the priority of the most recent event delivered by ENS.

  3. Three message boxes to the right of the status boxes. From left to right, they display:
