Install OVF Tool

You register and subscribe for a service from the service portal. You provide the required details for estimating the resource requirement for the service that is to be provisioned. To automatically deploy the service you must install the OVF Tool.

After you download the OVF templates and install OVF Tool, you can deploy the templates through the service portal. The system automatically deploys the appliances, installs the service, and creates preconfigured virtual machines in your VMware ESX server you specified.

Install the OVF Tool before you deploy the OVF templates automatically.

Note: For more information about the OVF Tool, go to http://www.vmware.com or see the VMware OVF Tool User Guide. Also, see the OVF Tool documentation for prerequisites and detailed installation procedures.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the CA Process Automation system with administrator credentials.

Note: Ensure that you install the OVF Tool on the oss-pam1.oss.ca virtual machine.

  2. Go to https://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/automationtools/ovf
  3. Click Download and extract the OVF Tool to the location where the appliances are copied.
  4. Run the installer in the C:/Program Files folder, and complete the installation.
  5. Restart the system.

    The OVF tool is installed.

Copy the payload of service to the location where the OVF Tool is installed and enable CA CSDP to deploy the payload automatically.
