The Explorer GUI lets you perform operations such as monitoring and editing properties of a selected node, setting the refresh timer, defining filters, and changing the font used in the tree and list views and the font used in its dialogs. It also handles basic functionality like the clipboard (cut/copy/paste), drag-and-drop, and so on.
The left pane, the Explorer bar, can display four different views: Tree View, History, Bookmarks, and Search. Tree View is the default viewing mode, and the Explorer GUI tree presents different types of nodes, depending on the installed plug-in that is currently in focus.
The right pane is a dynamic pane that displays details about the selected node in the left pane tree view. Its contents depend on the selected tree node and the current viewing mode. Child nodes of the currently selected node can be viewed in the right pane. The Information pane occupies the left portion of this pane and displays various portlets, such as Description, Filters, Tasks, Tips, and so on, relevant to the currently selected node. The right portion of this pane can display either a dynamic list view, an HTML view, or a custom view.
Other panes, such as the Output pane, may also be visible, depending on the currently selected tree node.
You can use the keyboard to move focus around the Explorer GUI window. Pressing Tab or Shift-Tab moves focus forward or backward through every "clickable" item on the window.
Press Enter to activate the currently selected item. Press the Applications key or Shift-F10 to simulate a right-click.
The F6 and Shift-F6 key presses move focus forwards and backwards through the available panes currently displayed, thus avoiding tabbing through every item in the frame views.
