Set Explorer GUI Options

You can control the way the Explorer GUI looks and operates using the Explorer GUI Options dialog.

To set GUI options

  1. Click Explorer GUI Options in the Tools menu.

The Explorer GUI Options dialog appears.

  2. Select one or more of the following options:
    Automatically Expand Items on Select

Expands a selected node in the left tree view when selected. The Explorer GUI is set to work in expand mode, but if this option is not enabled, no node in the left tree view expands when selected.

    Default: Enabled

    Confirm on Delete

Displays the Confirm Delete dialog when you click the Delete button for tree nodes, bookmarks, and so on.

    Default: Enabled

    Use Windows Color Scheme

Displays windows using the Microsoft Windows Color Scheme instead of the CA standard interface color scheme.

When you change this option, a message dialog appears stating that the application needs to be restarted for the change to take effect.

    Default: Disabled

    Disable Drag and Drop

Prevents all drag-and-drop operations in the Explorer GUI, both internally and from Windows Explorer, if enabled. This option is useful in preventing users from accidentally dropping items on the wrong target node.

    Default: Disabled

    Enable Application Idle Notification

DSM Manager continuously sends notification to DSM Explorers even they are idle. You can configure this notification interval to a specific time. After the specified time the DSM Explorer will stop processing notifications if it is in idle state. It is recommended to enable this option to improve the performance of the DSM Manager.

    Default: Disabled

Selected options are indicated with a checkmark.

  3. Click OK.

The options are saved and take effect.
