Common Security provides robust, generic and unified security for all the Client Automation products. Access to Client Automation is controlled by security profiles. These security profiles determine the users and groups who can access the system. You can map any operating system group or user to a security profile, which means that any operating system user or group can be granted access rights to Client Automation. In addition, you can specify permissions to restrict the access that security profile members have to selected folders or objects within Client Automation. You can then link the security profiles and the objects to one or more security areas. This restricts user access to only those objects that are linked to an authorized security area.
Note: Use of security areas is not mandatory. By default, security area support is turned off.
Users who do not have an associated security profile can be authorized to access Client Automation. These users belong to the Everyone profile. By default, this profile has No Access for all classes that is, the user cannot even connect to the domain. Authorized administrators can change the permissions of this profile, for example, to Read, for all classes.
