Modify Contents of Files in the CMP File
You can modify the contents of files that are contained in a CMP file. Therefore, you must check these files out into a working directory.
To modify the contents of files in the CMP File
- Select one or more files from the CMP File.
- Do one of the following:
- Click the Modify Contents button
on the toolbar
- Choose Modify, Contents from the Edit menu
- Right-click a selected file in the CMP File, and choose Modify Contents from the context menu
The Modify Contents dialog appears.
- Choose the preset working directory to export (check out) the selected files, or click Browse to select another directory from the subsequent Select Directory dialog.
- Click OK on the Modify Contents dialog.
The files currently in modification are marked with the File in modification symbol
in the left margin of the CMP File window and the path of the checked out file appears in the Source column.
- Double-click the file you want to modify, or right-click the file and select Start/Open from the context menu.
The file opens in a separate window.
- Edit and save the file.
- Modify all checked out files performing these steps.
- After you have completed all file modifications, save the CMP File.
The file modifications are incorporated in the CMP File. The check out paths disappear from the CMP File window and the File in modification symbols are reset to the File in hibernation symbol
.
