Use the following options and tabs in the Tables dialog to add a new table or modify the properties of an existing table. Available options and tabs will vary based upon your target DBMS and the model properties you select in the Model Properties dialog.
Lets you select a table for which you can view properties.
Lets you specify the table name.
Lets you specify the owner name for the table.
Specifies to display the table in the physical model only. If you clear this check box, the table displays in the logical model as an entity.
Specifies to generate a CREATE TABLE statement for the table in the schema generation script.
Lets you to start the DB Sync wizard so you can synchronize the tables defined in your data model with the database stored on the server.
Lets you specify dimensional modeling table roles and document how to update information in the data warehouse if the table has a dimension role.
Note: This tab is only available if you selected the Dimensional check box in the Model Properties dialog.
Lets you document data movement rules for a table.
Note: This tab is only available if you selected the Data Movement check box in the Model Properties dialog.
Lets you view and modify physical storage properties for a table and associate tables to predefined physical storage devices.
Lets you enter a comment for a table.
Lets you enter sizing information, including growth estimates, for a table.
Note: Use the Volumetrics dialog to view and report table and database size calculations.
Lets you enter user-defined property values for a table.
Lets you view the history of a table.
Specifies to attach validation rules to a table.
Lets you specify synonym names for a table.
Lets you specify alias names for a table.
Lets you specify both alias and synonym names for a table.
Note: When you select a physical storage object in which to store a table, the default or current parameters for that object appear with the table. Therefore, when you view a table in the Tables dialog, you can see the associated table name and the physical object in which the table is stored, and you can modify the parameters for that physical storage object. You can also increase or decrease the space available for the selected table, create space to store additional tables in the same physical object, or modify the size of storage objects as they are created.
