How to Upgrade a High Availability Deployment

As a system administrator, you are responsible for the maintenance of your CA Business Service Insight installation. Update CA Business Service Insight to implement the latest enhancements and fixes.

Verify the Prerequisites

To ensure that you can complete the upgrade, verify the following prerequisites:

Prepare for the Upgrade

To ensure a successful upgrade, perform the following tasks before you begin the upgrade.

Follow these steps:

  1. If you use a regional language setting that is not English, change it to English (USA).

    Note: The use of a different language setting for the upgrade may cause errors.

  2. Stop all Oblicore services.
  3. In IIS Manager, stop the web server.

    Important! Do not stop the WWW service or the IIS Admin service.

  4. Start the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.

    Note: This service is required only for the upgrade.

  5. Run oblicore_privs.sql. The script is on the Installation CD in the SetupDB\Migration folder.

    Note: If the db owner account is not oblicore, update the .sql file to grant privileges to your db owner account.

  6. Ensure that the job_queue_processes parameter is set to 2 in the Init.ora file.

Upgrade the Servers

To upgrade CA Business Service Insight, copy Cloud_Insight_Server_8.3.exe to each server, and perform the required upgrade tasks.
