Customize Weight Settings

You can access Weighting options in the following screens in CA Business Service Insight:

• In the All Services (or Filtered Serviced) page
• In the Internal Trend Chart for a service displayed on the All Services page
• When you work with the Explore Alternative Services feature which you can open from the All Services page. You can work with weighting features when you select services to compare, and on the last page of the wizard, while comparing the selected services.

By default, natural weight settings display. With natural weighting, each of the six SMI framework characteristics are given equal weight in the comparison calculations. You can create customized weight settings to match the requirements of your organization.

You can then work in any of the three contexts in which Weighting is available, and apply the custom weight in that context.

For example, you can set the weight setting to favor quality over cost. When you create a weight that matches your comparison requirements, you can save it and access it again from the Weighting menu in another context.
