Create an Adapter from a Configuration File

An existing configuration file can be used to create a managed adapter by uploading it through the Adapter Wizard. The configuration file must include time formats and a translation table must exist in the system in order to proceed.

To create an adapter from a configuration file

  1. In the Adapters page , click Add New/Create from configuration file. The Upload Configuration dialog page is displayed.
  2. Click Browse to select the desired configuration file.
  3. Click OK. The Adapter Wizard verifies that the file is of a legal format and contains values that are supported by the wizard.

If the file is of an illegal format or contains values that are not supported, a detailed error message is displayed.

If the file is of a legal format and contains values that are supported, the Adapter Wizard opens in the Add state (Text file or SQL according to the configuration file) containing all relevant information from the uploaded file.

  4. Edit the fields and parameters as necessary. For more information, see Adding Text File Adapters or Adding SQL Adapters.
