Data Source Interface Step
SQL adapters can be used to retrieve data from databases using an SQL statement. The SQL interface defines the connection to the database and the queries used to retrieve the data.
When creating SQL adapters, or when editing existing ones, the user has the ability to manage data sources in the Data Source Interface step by:
- Saving the data source as a template (click
)
- Setting an existing data source interface as default (click
)
For more information, see Managing Predefined Data Sources.
In the Data Source Interface step:
- In Select statement, type a select statement that is executed on the source database or click Open Query Builder to open the query builder tool that helps in creating the select statement.
- In the Main section, double-click on desired elements that are located to the right. The elements are opened in the Main section.
- In each element select the desired fields. The select statement is shown in the area below the Main section.
- Click on the Test Query button to check that the select statement is correctly written. The test result is shown in the area below button.
- Click OK. The select statement is updated to the Data Source Interface step.
