Managing Predefined Data Sources
When creating Text File or SQL adapters, or when editing existing ones, the user has the ability to manage data source templates in the Data Source Interface step. The management of data source templates is done separately for Text Files and SQLs depending on the current edited adapter. The management of templates includes the following capabilities:
- Saving the data source as a template
- Deleting data source templates
- Setting an existing data source template as framework. Any new data source interface that is created uses the template, which is defined as the framework.
To save (add) a data source as a template:
- In the Adapter Wizard page Data Source Interface step, edit the fields and parameters in all tabs as necessary. For more information, see Data Source Interface Step for Text File adapters or Data Source Interface Step for SQL adapters.
- Click Save as Template.
- If the data source already exists a confirmation dialog box is displayed. Click Yes. The data source is saved.
- If the data source does not exist, the application saves the data source immediately.
To delete a data source template:
- If an undesired data source template appears in the Data Source Templates page, it can be deleted by clicking
next to the undesired data source template. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
- Click Yes. The data source template is deleted.
