Create a Weekly Timeslot
When defining a weekly timeslot, you can define specific hours in the day and even specific blocks of minutes within each hour.
Follow these steps:
- In the Timeslots tab click Add New and select Weekly Timeslot.
The Weekly Timeslot page opens.
Note: You may need to scroll down to view the whole page.
- The weekly timeslot is made up of two grids:
The hour grid contains columns for each day of the week and rows for every hour of the day.
The minute grid is made up of an hour broken down into twelve five-minute segments.
- In Name, enter a name for the timeslot.
- In Description, enter a description for the timeslot.
- In the timeslot grid, define the timeslot as follows:
- In the hour grid, click and drag to select the hour segments to include in the timeslot, and then click Include. The squares turn blue, indicating that they are included in the timeslot.
For example, you might define a timeslot called Typical Weekdays by clicking and dragging from 8:00 a.m. on Monday to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
- To exclude specific five-minute segments within a selected hour, select one or more segments from the hour grid, click and drag in the minute grid to select minute segments, and then click Exclude. The segments in the hour grid turn light blue to indicate that the hour is only partially included.
For example, if you want to exclude the lunch hour (12:30-13:30) from the Typical Weekdays timeslot, you would do the following:
- Click and drag to select the 12:00-13:00 segment for Monday through Friday. The selected segments are framed in red.
- In the minute grid, click and drag from the all the segments from 30-35 to the 55-00 segments and click Exclude. The time period 12:30-13:00 is removed from the timeslot.
- In the hour grid, click and drag to select the 13:00-14:00 segment for Monday through Friday.
- In the minute grid, click and drag all the segments from the 00-05 segment to the 25-30 segment and click Exclude. The time period 13:00-13:30 is removed from the timeslot.
- The lunch hour (12:30-13:30) opens in light blue, indicating that it has been excluded from the timeslot.
Note: Click a row header to select that hour for the entire week. Click a column header to select the entire day. Click Invert to reverse the settings.
- Click Save.
The new weekly timeslot is added to the contract.
Note: You can save this template to the Timeslot Templates. For more information see Saving a Timeslot as a Timeslot Template.
