Commit Contracts

For a contract to take effect, it must be committed.

Note: A workflow-enforced contract must abide by a strict workflow process. Committing a workflow-enforced contract requires approval by an assigned contract approver.

To commit a contract:

  1. In the Contracts Details page modify the relevant details [if required].
  2. Click Commit. The Commit Contract page opens.
  3. Click Commit. The contract is committed.

Note: A contract cannot be committed if there are any metric errors in it. For more information, see Checking a metric. If the commit button is not available and there are no errors, you may have workflow enabled. For more information, see Requesting Approval for a Contract.

To commit a contract (workflow enabled):

Committing a contract that has workflow enabled requires approval.

  1. In the Contracts Details page click Request Approval. The Send dialog box opens.
  2. [Optional]. In Remarks, type a remark to be displayed in the e-mail message.
  3. Click Send. The approval request is sent to the contract approver.
  4. Click OK. The Contract Details page opens.

Note: A contract pending approval can be canceled.
