You can control the display of your services on the Service Overview page by enabling or disabling features for a specific service. For example, you can choose to collect and display internal comparison data, but disable display of peer and category comparison data. You can "un-manage" a service to suspend the collection of all comparison data, and so on.
When you discover a service, you can choose to set the managed status. A managed service is enabled for other actions - such as the discovery of comparison metrics, or for sharing on Cloud Commons. This first step is required before you can work with other comparison features. The service management status is reflected in the Manage column in your services list.
Services with the Manage status set to "off" do not display in the Services Overview page.
You can turn the option to gather comparison metric data on or off. This option is an action you can apply to one or more service using the Action menu in the Data and Sharing Management Tab of the Service Discovery and Management page. The status for this feature displays in the Service Comparison Metrics column of the Services list, marked "on" or "off".
Services with the Service Comparison Metrics status set to "on" display comparison metrics scores in the Services Overview page, and in other pages that display metric scores.
You can activate global sharing for all your services in the Global Sharing Dialog which you access when you click Site Settings, Global Sharing on the Administration menu. Global Sharing must be set to "on" to enable Data Sharing of a specific service. Turn on the global sharing setting if you plan to widely share your service data on Cloud Commons. If you must restrict data sharing, you should use the global setting to turn this feature off for all services. To work with Global Sharing features, you must first register on Cloud Commons using the options in the Global Sharing dialog.
The global sharing status for a service displays in the Data Sharing column of the Services list. "Config Needed" displays in this column for services that have not yet been set for global sharing.
When global sharing is turned on, you can turn on data sharing for a service (or group of selected services). This process includes connecting to Cloud Commons to share your comparison data. If a match for the selected service or category is not found, you have the option to add your service to Cloud Commons.
The data sharing status for a service displays in the Data Sharing column of the Services list, marked "on" or "off".
Services with the Data Sharing status set to "on" display peer and category comparison data in the Services Overview page, and in other pages where metric data is displayed.
