Recalculation History

A Recalculation History is a list of metrics that have been recalculated and whose recalculation is more than 30 days in the past. You can use the Recalculation History window to search (filter) for specific metrics that have been recalculated.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration, ACE Management, Recalculation History.

The Recalculation History window displays a list of all metrics that have been recalculated.

  2. Enter the required dates in the "Date from" and "date to" fields.
  3. Select the required Contract Party from the Contract Party drop-down list.
  4. Select the required Contract from the Contract drop-down list.
  5. Click Search.
  6. The Recalculation History window displays a list of all metrics corresponding to the information entered.

Calculated Data Lock

Calculated Data Lock prevents you from performing a recalculation on a contract's data according to the option selected.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration, ACE Management, Calculated Data Lock.

The Calculated Data Lock window appears.

  2. Select the year and month of the locking date.

Note: This is the starting date of the lock.

  3. Set the lock direction (An earlier date, A later date, or Any direction).
  4. Enter the following information to find relevant contracts:
  5. Click Show Relevant Contracts.

A list of all contracts matching the search criteria displays.

  6. Select the contracts whose data you are locking.
  7. Click the Lock button.

The data corresponding to the selected contracts and dates is now locked to recalculation.

Calculated Data Unlock

Calculated Data Unlock reverses the effects of Calculated Data Lock.

Calculation Policies

Calculation policy applies to metric calculation granularity. A calculation policy determines the minimum and maximum time between calculations for each calculation granularity (hours, days, weeks, and others) of metrics.

Upon receipt of a calculation event or a system change, the calculation engine waits the "Minimum time" before performing calculations (even if events continue to enter the system). If no events occur, the system performs a calculation after the "Maximum time".

Note: Applies to the ACE2 engine only.

Note: The Default Calculation Policy and the Default Clustered Calculation Policy are identified by an icon in front of each in the Calculation Policies window.

Adding a new Calculation Policy

You can Create New Calculation policies as required.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration, ACE Management, Calculation Policies.

    The Calculation Policy window displays.

  2. Enter a name for the Policy (required) and a description (optional).
  3. To set this policy as a default policy, click the "Set as Default" menu and select the type of metrics that will apply this policy as default (clustered metrics or ordinary metrics).
  4. Set each min (minimum) and max (maximum) time unit for the policy.

Note: The default number of minutes in the max time units (such as the number of minutes per day) are not the actual number of minutes per unit. In general the default number of minutes per unit is less than the actual number. This ensures that the calculation granularity is higher than a tracking period of the same unit. You can select any number of minutes for any unit as required.

  5. Click Save.

The Calculation Policy window displays with the new policy added.

Applying a Calculation Policy to a Contract

A Calculation Policy can be applied to Contract Parties, Contracts and individual metrics.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration, ACE Instance Management.
  2. The ACE Instance Management window displays; all Contract Parties are listed.
  3. Place the mouse cursor on a Contract Party name (not the edit icon) and click.

The ACE Instances per Metric dialog displays. It lists all contracts that belong to the Contract Party and all metrics that belong to each Contract. It also lists the ACE Instance assigned to each Metric.

  4. Place a check mark next to the metrics receiving the calculation policy you are now applying.

Note: This can be done only for metrics assigned to ACE2.

  5. Click the Set ACE Instance button (or click a metric's edit icon - for an individual metric).

The Assign ACE Instance to metrics dialog displays.

  6. Click the Calculation Policy drop down menu arrow.

    The menu opens.

  7. Select the Calculation Policy to apply.

Note: This Calculation Policy applies to all metrics that are checked.

  8. Click Save to save and return to the ACE Instances per Metrics dialog.
  9. If required, you can apply a different policy to other metrics.
  10. Click Close to return to the ACE Instance Management window.
