The Adapter Manager utility is used to install new adapters. The main purpose of the Adapter Manager utility is to manage the adapter folder (create it, copy files to it and create a short cut to the adapter executable) and to handle the system settings related to the adapter.
CA Business Service Insight does not have to be present on the machine on which the adapter is installed. However the utility must be installed locally at the adapter's location.
Adapters can be created locally on the <o> server or on a remote computer. The Adapters Manager manages adapter registration and places the adapter executables and configuration templates in the new Adapters folder.
The main window displays the list of adapters that are created on the local computer.
In order to use the Adapter Manager, the server must have the following installed:
If CA Business Service Insight is installed on the server, this folder already exists, if not, it should be created.
Create a folder under the Adapter root folder for the specific adapter.
The templates of the adapter configuration file. The files need to be placed in the Adapter's root folder.
This is a standalone executable and can be simply copied from an existing location.
