The adapter modules are separated modules of CA Business Service Insight and can be deployed in a distributional manner in the organization network. The adapters collect the data from the data sources and pass the information over the network to the CA Business Service Insight server. Another option is to deploy the adapter modules centralized in the CA Business Service Insight server and give the adapters the accessibility to the various distributed organizational data sources. Adapters can be deployed in offline mode, run with no communication to CA Business Service Insight and write the events into an output file that can then be gathered by another adapter.
