- In Name, enter a name for the contract (up to 60 characters).
- In Contract Type, select the type of contract from the list.
- In Primary Contract Party and in Secondary Contract Party:
- Select the primary and secondary contract parties for whom the contract is created.
- Select Provider or Receiver.
Note: Click View Details to view additional information about selected contract parties before choosing one, or click Add New if the desired contract party is not listed. For more information, see Adding a Contract Party.
- In Services, select the services to include in the contract from the Available Services list and move to the Included Service list.
If the Display fee per service and Display seats per service options were selected in Administration, Site Settings, Contracts, click Edit to display the Edit Service window opens. Enter the number of seats included for each service in the Seats field, and the fee per seat in the Fee field, if required.
Note: Click View Details to view additional information about selected services before selecting them. Click Add New if the desired service is not listed. Click Edit to modify the seat and fee information after selecting them. For more information see Adding a Service.
- In Effective, enter the start date/time and the end date/time of the contract.
- If the Contract workflow option, in Administration, Site Settings, Contracts, is set to Enable or Enforce, enter the email addresses:
- In To be approved by, the email address of the authority that must approve the report.
- In Reply to, the email address of the recipient of the approval.

- In Time zone, select a time zone for the contract from the list.
Note: This field is available only if the Display fee per contract check box in Administration, Site Settings, Contracts is checked.
- In Currency, select the currency for the contract fee from the list.
Note: If the desired currency is not listed, add it to the list. For more information, see Adding a Unit.
- In Fee, enter an amount for the fee per seat for the contract as a whole.
Note: This field is available only if the Display time zone check box in Administration, Site Settings, Contracts is checked.
- In Seats, enter the number of seats for the contract as a whole.
Notes:
- This field is available only if the Display seats per contract check box in Administration, Site Settings, Contracts is checked.
- Values defined in Seat and Fee are used in penalty calculations. Penalties can either make use of these values or the fees for particular services. For more information, see Defining the Penalty Formula.
- In Owner, enter the name of the contract owner.
- Fill in the custom attribute fields, if exist, as required. These attributes display if they were created under the Design, Foundation Entities tab.
Notes:
- A contract's custom attributes are not accessible from the Business Logic of the Contract's metrics
- A custom Attribute is not copied to the derived contract template unless it is attached to the same custom attribute
- A contract's custom attributes are copied to a duplicated contract
- Updating a custom attribute value is performed under version control
- Updating a custom attribute value does not cause metric recalculation
- Updating a custom attribute value inside the contract is indicated in the contract's Audit Trail tab
- Click Apply to save changes and stay in the current page.
- Click Save to save changes and return to the previous page.
- Click Cancel to discard changes and return to the previous page.
