Metric Filter

The Metric category in the Catalog displays the effective metrics in CA Business Service Insight filtered by the user's security rights. Because the number of metrics to be displayed can be extremely large, a mandatory filter is used before the metrics are displayed. When clicking on the Metric category, this mandatory filter displays.

To display the available metrics:

1. Select a contract party from the drop-down list.
2. Select a contract from the drop-down list. The available metrics display.

   Note: Page links at the bottom of the category enable navigating through the pages to find the metric you are looking for.

In addition to the mandatory filter, a more detailed filter is available capable of refining the metric viewing output.

To use the detailed filter:

1. Click next to the Metric category. The Metric Filter window displays.
2. In Search for, select a search option, by Name or by Description, and enter the search criteria.
3. In Contract Party, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.

   Note: If the mandatory filter was used prior to using the detailed filter, this field is already populated.

4. In Contracts, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.

   Note: If the mandatory filter was used prior to using the detailed filter, this field is already populated.

5. Click OK. The Catalog opens showing the results for the Metric category.

   Note: You can also select a letter from the alphabet list to display a list of metrics that begin with that letter.

The Dashboard provides an advanced filtering mechanism for additional refining of the results.

To add advanced filtering options:

1. Repeat steps 2 to 4 from above.
2. Click . The advanced Metric Filter window opens.
3. In Service, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.
4. In Service Domain, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.
5. In Domain Category, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.
6. In Main Indicator, select whether to filter by metrics that are main indicators of the contract or the service.
7. In Metric Type, select one or more metric types.
8. In Unit of Measurement, select from the available choices in the drop-down list.
9. Click OK. The Catalog opens showing the results for the Metric category.

   Note: You can also select a letter from the alphabet list to display a list of metrics that begin with that letter.
