Install CA Process Automation VMware vSphere Connector

Install the connector in the server where CA Process Automation is installed to connect to the vSphere client. The VMware vSphere Connector provides CA Process Automation access to a vCenter server using the vSphere API to perform functions such as creating and starting virtual machines.

Note: You can install the latest vSphere Connector(Version 4.0) that is shipped with the service cartridge.

Follow these steps:

  1. Shut down the Domain Orchestrator.

    Note: To confirm that the Orchestrator you are shutting down is the Domain Orchestrator, examine the setting for oasis.server.isPrimary in the OasisConfig.properties file. The OasisConfig.properties file is found in <itpam_root_directory>\server\c2o\.config, where <itpam_root_directory> is the directory where CA IT PAM was installed. Verify that oasis.server.isPrimary=true.

    Go to the cartridge installation folder as noted in the worksheet, go to the vSphere Connector installer file.

  2. Double-click the following program to start the connector installation.
    PAM_Connector_Installer_vSphere_4_0-w64.exe 
    

    Note: Select the file that is based on the server operating system type. For example, a server operating on a 64-bit operating system, you select the 64-bit installer file.

    The installer Introduction page opens.

  3. Click Next.

    The License Agreement page opens.

  4. Accept the license agreement and click Next.
  5. The Select CA IT PAM Installation Directory page opens.

    Note: This page displays the default installation directory for CA IT PAM.

  6. Select one the installation folder locations, and click Next:

    A web page opens.

  7. Select vSphere Connector and click Next.

    The Install CA IT PAM Connectors page opens. When the installation completes, the Completing the CA IT PAM Connector Setup wizard page opens.

  8. Click Finish.
  9. Restart the orchestrator and agent to make the vSphere Connector available for use.
