Configure CA Process Automation VMware vSphere Module

CA Process Automation lets you configure the module properties to add VMware accounts at the domain level or at the lower levels. The vSphere Connector is comprised of a vSphere Module that provides an interface for the vCenter Server to access CA Process Automation.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Configuration.
  2. Right-click Domain and select Lock.
  3. Click Modules.
  4. Double-click the VMware vSphere Module.

    The module settings are displayed.

  5. Specify the appropriate default settings for this module.
    User name

    Defines the vCenter server administrator user name.

    Password

    Defines the password that is associated to the user name.

    URL

    Defines the URL for the vCenter server.

    Named Connections

    If you frequently connect to multiple vSphere servers with different credentials, it can be beneficial to create named connections that you can save and use again. Use this field to provide an array of user name, password and URL sets that the name refers as needed.

    1. Click Add Parameter.

      A new row appears.

    2. Complete the following fields:
    User name

    Defines the vCenter server administrator user name.

    Password

    Defines the password that is associated to the user name.

    URL

    Defines the URL for the vCenter server.

    Connection Name

    Defines the name of the vCenter server connection.

    1. Click Save and Close.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Right-click the component that you locked in step 2 and click Unlock to unlock the component.

    The connector is now configured. When the quick starts and operators are imported and configured, the service-specific workflows are automated.
