Frequently Asked Questions
- What does "No Change" mean? If you bulk edit more than one application, the "No Change" option preserves the existing value for the setting on each application.
- When should I give an application priority? In order to manage the growth of the database, if necessary, the management console can groom the 5-minute data for an application. When the management console grooms data, there will be no data for an application during a 5-minute interval, and the application data can have a "checker board" appearance. If you do not want the management console to groom the 5-minute data for an application, make the application a priority by selecting the Priority check box.
- What is a control port application? A control port application uses two TCP ports. The control port sends and receives the request information, and the data port sends and receives the actual data. The same monitoring device must monitor both the control port and the data port traffic to determine the transaction response time. Any type of monitoring device can monitor a control port application.
