This hotfix resolves an issue with CA AppLogic not properly configuring smartd to monitor disks connected to LSI megaraid 2108 controllers.

Applicability:

hf9031 is an optional hotfix for CA AppLogic3.7.x. This hotfix cannot be used with other versions.

The hotfix modifies files on the grid servers. The hotfix takes effect immediately upon successful installation (no reboot is required). If this hotfix is installed on a grid and afterwards a new server is added to the grid, this hotfix is automatically installed on the newly added server.

Notes:

• Any log messages related to a device being skipped may be ignored; as such messages would pertain to non-disk devices.
• This hotfix is only applicable to Xen-based grids. However installing this hotfix on an ESX-based grid will not cause any adverse effects.
