Assign Backlog Items to a Release Sprint
The Backlog page simplifies sprint planning by enabling you to drag-and-drop user stories from the product backlog into a sprint backlog.
Follow these steps:
- From the Backlog page, select the product you want to work with from the Product drop-down list.
- Click the Show Sprints link (left-facing black arrow) to display the Sprint Stories pane.
The pane displays the current sprint.
- Optional: Filter the view to display the backlog for the sprint you want to work with using one of the following methods:
- Select an existing filter.
- Create a new filter:
- Click Add/Edit Filter.
- Enter the name of the new filter.
- Select a release and click Add.
- Select a sprint and then click Filter.
The Sprint Stories pane displays the backlog for the selected sprint.
- Drag-and-drop a user story from the product backlog and onto the sprint backlog.
The user story is added to the sprint backlog.
- Repeat for additional user stories and issues that need to be added to the sprint backlog.
Each backlog item that you have dragged to the Sprint Stories pane also appears in the Sprint Backlog & Charts page for the sprint.
