Create Tasks for Backlog Items

Backlog items describe work to which the scrum team commits during a sprint. For example, if a user story describes a new user interface control, one of the tasks might be to create an icon. Another might be to test the control.

In addition to listing the steps that complete the work, the scrum team logs the numbers of hours worked for a user story at the task level.

Follow these steps:

  1. From the Backlog page, open a user story or issue.
  2. Scroll to the Task section and click New Task.
  3. Complete the appropriate fields and click Save to open the detail page for the task.

You can now create a task worklog, edit the task, or delete the task.

To return to the backlog, open the Agile Vision menu and select Backlog from the Planning menu.

You have populated the product backlog. The scrum team can now use the backlog to manage their work during the release and sprints.
